Project One Pic II
Description  MR.DHARMENDRA PRASAD'S RESIDENCE AT POLGAHAWELA
The house located at an eye catching environment with in seven perches adjacent to railway track and surrounded by series of paddy fields. There is a particular view which terminated by parallel mountains. I’ve aimed to provide the environment with distinction of activities. The house localized to experience the usual activities in paddy field and railway.

The primal intention of this design is to merge the characteristics and create a better relationship among the surrounded environment with house.

The design has been planned with simplified elements to commensurate the possibility of cost. The left side of the ground floor includes the vehicular parking area which connected with the living area by front verandah.

The living is a well enough space directly linked with dining area. There is a narrow pathway which connectED with the pantry, dining and parking. Further ground floor includes the guest bedroom with a common bathroom and kitchen.

Dining area is a double height space faced to the courtyard. The Upper floor consists three bedrooms with a common bathroom. The balconies designed only for two bedrooms to capture an entire front view.

The variations of exterior wall colours that mentions the gradual growth of paddy. Black colour has composed to the front pillars, handrails and openings that demonstrates a colour of railway track and reflects
rigidity through the front pillars.
The mud colours with off brown that aimed to enhance the three dimensional quality of the entire design. The dark green rafters are outstanding elements in the house.

The residence is a low cost building by adding precast concrete slab as a primitive material of structure. The roof is structured with TIMBER rafters and reepers. The floor has
finished with tiles and roof includes RAFTERS in order to
appearS to the outside, tabular asbestos ceiling sheets and roof coverings used to reduce the cost for CREATE simplified roof structure.

All these materials create a simple formwork for structure without sacrificing the primary building plan.
