Sandapahangama Community Center Project - Hambantota

Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) designed, built and donated the above community center to the people in Sandapahanagama Model Village, Hambantota. For the first time a community hall was built in a Government low cost housing programme. This was built with the participation of the villagers and they much appreciated the efforts of SLIA. This is the first time SLIA stepped in into this type of project in its sixty years of history.

Hon. Sajith Premadasa, Minister of Housing & Construction declared open the facility on 23rd June 2017 to coincide with the National Housing Day in Sri Lanka, in the presence of Archt. D.H. Wijewardene President and other Council Members of SLIA. This is also one of the CSR projects undertaken by SLIA.
